Training of Trainers workshops for coping with anxiety and stress through drama therapy in Athens!
On the 12th and 15th of April 2024, two pilot workshops for the Erasmus+ Cope project took place in Athens, Greece, with the participation of two trainers and 12 youth workers. During the first part of both sessions, the trainers introduced the participants to the project and its aims, and the course in Greek was presented through the project´s e-learning platform. The trainers provided an overview of the contents of each module, before focusing on “Module 1 – Introduction to youth mental health” and its activities. During the second half of the session, the trainers focused on “Module 3 – Drama Therapy”, due to the participants´ interest in the topic. After reviewing the module´s five learning units, the trainees engaged in storytelling and improvisation activities that allowed them to reflect on the potential of drama therapy in youth work.
Both sessions were engaging and successful. The activities not only fostered empathy and resilience but also equipped youth workers with practical tools to implement in their daily work. Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing newfound interest in integrating drama techniques into their practice with the aim of supporting young people navigate emotional challenges.
